River & Sea Sands, Garnet

ACHME offers a range of high-performance filter media for general water and effluent treatment needs. River and Quartz Sea sands are used as media with excellent removal efficiency for suspended contaminants. Water is passed through a fixed bed

of filter media whereby the contaminants are trapped inside interconnecting void space and thereby removed. The bed can be backwashed in cycles on a pre-determined pressure drop or backwashing can simply be done after fixed time intervals. Garnet is a higher density media ideal for abrasive or corrosive effluents, offering low attrition rates. Typical velocity through a fixed bed is about 15 m/hr.

Activated Carbon

Coconut Shell based Activated Carbon products are well known for their signature physical properties.

• Very large internal surface areas characterized by micro porosity along with relatively high hardness and low dust make these carbons particularly attractive for water and critical air applications such as point of use water filters and respirators respectively.
• ACHME as a manufacturer and distributor of Coconut Shell based carbons stocks a wide range of high quality products. In addition to granular forms, we hold a number of pelletized grades (3mm, 4mm & 6mm) available for delivery to any destination.
• Very high surface area characterized by a large proportion of microspores
• High hardness with low dust generation.
• Excellent purity, with most products exhibiting no more than 3-5% ash content.
